Cyndi Betts has been Concertmaster with the Kent Philharmonic Orchestra since the 1991 season. She received her Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Michigan and went on to study Violin at Roosevelt University in Chicago. Her teachers included William Patterson, Yosef Yankelev, Ruggiero Ricci and Cirrus Forrough. She is an active free-lance violinist in the Grand Rapids area, including her work with the Allegro String Quartet. Cyndi has been an orchestra teacher since 1985 and currently serves as an Orchestra Director for the Grand Rapids Christian Schools. She has also been involved at St. Cecilia Music Center for many years and is currently the Director of the Grand String Orchestra. She and her husband Tom have three sons.
